Getting into the spirit of the Rugby World Cup 2023
The Haka is a traditional Māori dance of challenge and pride. It is often performed by sports teams before games, but it can also be performed at other events, such as ceremonies and festivals.
This month, our whole school got involved in performing the Haka as Gaeilge to support the Irish rugby team in the 2023 Rugby World Cup. It was a very enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Performing the Haka as Gaeilge was a great way to show our support for the Irish rugby team and to celebrate our Irish language. It was also a great way to learn about the Māori culture and their traditions.
