Dear Parents & Guardians,
I would like to wish you and your families a very happy new year. Please find below a list of recent and upcoming events.
Christmas Carol Service: I would like to congratulate the children for their performances of this year’s Christmas carol service. I would also like to thank the teachers for preparing the children so well.
Active Schools: The school is looking to be recognised as an active school. As part of this process we are trying to encourage the children to receive their recommended daily allowance of 60 mins exercise per day. The following are some whole school approaches: (i) Fit 4 5 in the mornings; (ii) Busy Break on Wednesdays and (iii) P.E homework. We would welcome your support and ask that you encourage the children to do the exercise as part of homework.
Swimming: Please see attached details of this year’s swimming lessons for children from 3rd – 6th.
Table Quiz: Our annual inter-schools fundraising Table Quiz will take place on Thursday 19th January 2017 at 7.15pm. in the Meadow Court Hotel. The Quiz is open to children from 3rd – 6th class and tables of 4 cost €20.00. We will also need some help from parents to correct and collect on the night. If you are available to help, please let the class teacher know with a note in your child’s diary. This is always a great evening for the children and a good fundraising event for the school. We welcome your support and assistance.
Clothes Collection: Our next school clothes collection is on Wednesday 25th January 2017.
Reading World Cup: Our annual Reading World Cup is under way at the moment for children from 1st – 6th. This is one of our initiatives to promote reading in the school.
