Read MoreThe arrival of May heralded the arrival of Summer so the Travel agents was a very appropriate theme for this month !!The children read the book “Where in the World shall we go ” which taught them all about going to a travel agents and what happens when you go there. Children were then ready to take on the role as travel agents & customers in the play corner. We also read the book “Up up and away “and afterwards discussed holidays that the children have gone on.In History we looked at how beach holidays have changed with the passing of time and also looked at how transport methods have also changed .In geography we looked at the life of people in Spain & how their lives differ from ours. We looked at features of the Irish landscape that children might encounter on their holidays & what a safari holiday would consist of. In art children used clay to manipulate an object they may need on their holidays. Junk art saw the creation of various holiday items & children could be seen leaving the classroom with their home made suitcases!!
